At CompuChild, we care about children. We strongly believe in education, but also care about the health and well being of the whole child. We work to improve the lives of children in three ways.
1) Charitable Giving - Over the years, CompuChild has donated thousands of dollars to support children in need. From medical research to food pantries to youth sports leagues, CompuChild Services of America, Inc. as well as our dedicated CompuChild Program Directors donate regularly to numerous children’s causes. We truly care about children.
2) Adopt-A-Center - While we work hard to keep CompuChild classes affordable, we recognize not every family has the means to pay for extras like CompuChild classes. Children on the other side of the 'digital divide' are not prepared to benefit from the use of technology in today’s educational system. At a critical time in their development, many have not had the opportunity to learn how to use the tools that will be a central component in both their personal and professional lives.
Corporate sponsors are helping bridge the digital divide by “adopting” childcare centers and providing CompuChild computer classes to every student. Following each lesson, sponsors are provided with an attendance sheet and progress report that outlines the software program used and the emphasis points covered in that day’s class. Emphasis points are the skills and terminology taught in a logical and progressive manner, which give children a better appreciation and understanding of the computer as a tool. If you are interested in the Adopt-A-Center program, please contact the corporate office or your local CompuChild Program Director.
3) Scholarships – Many Program Directors offer scholarships to local children. A scholarship may include classes for free or at a reduced rate. To qualify, children need to be attending a school or center that currently offers CompuChild classes. Working with existing centers, our local Program Directors identify a select number of students to receive the scholarships. If your child is selected, you will be notified by your local CompuChild Program Director. The qualifications and eligibility of any participant are at the sole discretion of CompuChild and are final. The number of scholarships offered is limited and the program may be terminated at anytime.
